Of Mice and Maze
Experiments were conducted at Baylor University: mice were
trained to run through a maze, and an extract was then made of their
brains. This extract was fed to untrained mice, which then learned the
same maze twice as fast as their predecessors. If placed in a different
maze, the untrained mice showed no particular aptitude for learning the
layout. The implication of these experiments is that memory can be
transferred from one being to another somatically as well as
experientially. (Source: http://www.skygaze.com/)
I wonder if that is why cannibalism originated in the first place! And whether the Red Indians were correct in eating their enemies' hearts to get their courage!

The Amazing Sea horse
The male sea horse is the one who gets pregnant! The female lays upto 600 eggs in the male sea horse's pouch, which is cushion-like and lined with blood vessels to provide nourishment for the young. After about a month or two, young sea horses ("ponies"??) are ejected by the father from the pouch, a few at a time.
The Blue Whale's Size!
The tongue of a blue whale is bigger than a taxi cab, and can weigh as much as an elephant. Moreover, its heart is supposed to be as big as a Volkswagen Beetle! It also produces the loudest sound that is produced by an animal - up to 188 decibels, which can be detected as far away as 853 kms (530 miles)

20/20 or 20/15?
20/20 vision means the eye can see normally at 20 feet. 20/15 is better; the eye can see at 20 feet what another eye sees at 15 feet.
Population Explosion!
Every four days the world population increases by one million people.

The world's current population (as of 4th August, 2011): 6,914,962,513
